Just got my chip, and can't find the PCM in the cab . I see the thing under the hood, but I can't find the actual PCM in the cab. A pic would be awesome.
Pull the kick panel off(trim that covers the E brake assembly), pull the E brake off(3 1/2" nuts) and slide it out of the way. You can see the PCM behind there barely. You need to pull the PCM out and clean the contacts for the chip though so you have to pull it from under the hood.
so Strokin you're saying that I shouldn't have to do anything in the cab? I see what you guys are saying about pulling it out from under the hood, but I can't get the thing over the finder well.

You have to pull a few bolts out of the fender liner and pull it back to get the PCM out.
Take the inner fender loose. Then get someone to pry it down and pull the pcm out. Take it apart and clean the contacts per the instructions. If you ever need to pull the chip after its easier done inside the cab. The ebrake bracket is only three bolts to change the chip.

If you have a dial (position selector) with the chip , you will need to install it from inside the truck ...
got it. I wedged a small crow bar in between the hood and the finder then closed the hood and it pushed the finder down. Had to give it a tap from inside and she popped out. Hopefully I can get my chip installed tonight.
