Whats the deal with the Blue Angels "Fat Albert" C-130?.........are they retiring it?
Great shot of the P-51D!
The JATO "rockets" on the C-130`s sides are not being made anymore. Atleast thats what the announcer stated. Said that they wont be making them anymore and once the current stock is used up thats it. I am thinking well makes sense why do they need an C-130 with JATO when they got the C-17 that can take off as short as the C-130 does.
I also have video of the C-130 taking off with the JATO. Down side is the video was taken with my old HP digital camera that is rated at 5 Megapixel where the newer one I used this year is around 8 Megapixel.
That P-38 Lightning looks great! one of Kelly Johnson's finest works.
Oh I dont know. I do know if they keep the C-130 they wont have a endless supply of rockets to use the JATO feature.
Yep its the only P-38F-1-LO that is flying today. Also spent many years being restored after she was salvaged from under 300 feet of ice on Greenland back in the early 90`s.
She was supposed to have a recreation flight from the US to England Via BW8 on Greenland like she was back in 1942 but never finished it. The recration flight was scrapped then the owner died which is when a banker (I think hes a banker) bought it and home base is now out around Austin here in Texas.
Just one correction on your original pics. The F-15 in the background is from the 159th New Orleans Guard unit (JZ) and this doesn't appear to be an "E" model. (They don;t have any 'E's there. Most likely a "D" model trainer.

Nice pics though.
I see 2 seats in a Eagle, and I automatically think "Strike Eagle".............Yeah, forgot about the trainers.........I would give some good $$$ for a ride in the back seat of that F-15.
Nice pics, I got to see the Blue Angels earlier this year and they put on a great show. We had a flyover by a B2, but no A10s. The A10 and P38 are two of my favorites.

I cant say on the F-15`s, but there was a F/A18-E there. I have a photo of it you can clearly see F/A18-E on the side. The F-15`s I dont know what model they were so I just labeled them as F-15A`s.
Hopefully the close up comes out ok had to crop it in paint cause crop in photobucket didnt provide the crispness to see the FA18E on the side aft of the NAVY bilboard.

I didnt even noticed that one of the F15`s were a 2 seater till you mentioned that.
spotter A/C would appear to be a Cessna 337 or some variant, reputation for being a little underpowered, which produced very poor single engine performance. but generally good manners, since no asymmetric thrust issues
I didnt post these next few photos cause they were taken with a different camera and I was just now able to upload the photos. The photos all were taken in b&w mode which I didnt know about but some of them came out good.
