Well heres the thing i just got my truck almost a month ago, even know the dealer sees it more than i do, looking for a nice first add on. im stuck between the afe stage 2 si intake with the blade runner intake elbow, or a mbrp 4 inch turbo back exhaust. looking for some opinions on power differences and possible better mpgs, also heard a 4 inch down pipe is a pain to fit in, any truth in that?

def get the exhaust. more power gain for sure. downpipe is a little close but it fits. Do yourself a favor and get the mbrp without the muffler. I just purchased mine and its no louder than stock exhaust. waiting on my muffler delete pipe as we speak.
The exhaust is a no brainer. The intake is fine unless you are running over 500 HP. I got the 4" turbo back with a cat delete but their muffler and think it sounds great. I run a SCT x3 with a street tune. The sound is perfect when I get on it.

how many miles on ure truck?? tuner cause u any issues yet?? Guy here in Wi selling sctx3 for $275. Not sure if i should get it. also he used it on a f150. does this work for 250 psd as well? On their site it shows as if it does...
Just turned 60,000 a few days ago. No issues on the turner but I have doen headstuds and replaced just about everything I could. The exhaust sounds nothing like stock with the muffler in it. I am not sure if the tuner would work. I know you would have to buy tunes as you have a different motor. A new one is $429 from innovative so not a bad price if it will work. You will spend some money on tunes though and your going to be real close to the price of new after buying tunes. The new one comes with 3 tunes.
that is what i was planning on doing was the exhaust, heard the same about the intake, i found a five inch for about the same price but heard that it not the best for a stock truck like mine. wanna get myself a quadzilla adrenaline two, i believe thats the name, but i think its good, my brother wants me to get tunes by tadd like him but dont want to go blowin head gaskets

Yea well my mbrp has the cat on it so it does still sound stock, i have muffler too. no difference in sound. atleast for me
Get the exhaust an SCT with custom tunes from Innovative Diesel.
You can get either cat and muffler delete pipes (I have the delete pipes) for under $100 or get a 4" turbo back for under $300. Both are proper for a stock truck.
5" is very big for stock but you can get it if you want.
Where can you get a 5" pipe from and what is the best way to get it? Never herd of a 5”. Also does anyone know where to get duel pipes for a 05 Excursion? Also is it better to run with a cat delete and muffler delete?
I wouldnt go with 5". Not enough back pressure. There are a few guys on here that run it but by far the majority run 4". Allot feel the stock exhaust is plenty for a stock truck .
Unless you are flowing more air with a bigger turbo or more fuel with bigger sticks(or both) a 5" will cause you to lose some low end power. You can compensate with aggressive tuning, but that has it's own drawback.
Less is more is true in this case.
A lot of people think it's cool to have a bigger honker of an exhaust, but truth is, it doesn't help as much as you would think for 90% of the people that do it. Law of marginal utility.
Oh and stay away from the a/m intakes, not worth it at your stage in the game.
