Unless you are flowing more air with a bigger turbo or more fuel with bigger sticks(or both) a 5" will cause you to lose some low end power. You can compensate with aggressive tuning, but that has it's own drawback.
Less is more is true in this case.
A lot of people think it's cool to have a bigger honker of an exhaust, but truth is, it doesn't help as much as you would think for 90% of the people that do it. Law of marginal utility.
Oh and stay away from the a/m intakes, not worth it at your stage in the game.
well i know its gunna be different, id be happy if it satyed the same, but every one likes hearin how there truck sounds and that doesnt usually mean anything good for throttle control, thats gunna be the hardest part
I have a 4" all the way back...would cutting out the cat and just putting $50 worth of pipe and running it straight be better than running a 4" turbo back? I know the cost is totally different but would it be better or worse?

If you have a full 4" turbo back with a cat, it will have better flow when you remove the cat and replace it with a 4" pipe. Try not to weld it just incase you have to put it back on.

i have a MBRP 4" turbo back cat delete exhaust on my truck. Also have Bully Dog an Air Raid cold air intake.I leave my bully dog on towing all the time an it have more than enough get up an go for me. An it sounds good to,even thou i have MBRP muffler on,for now. My truck is a 05 F-250 FX4 Crew Cab Shortbed. 6-inch Fabtech lift kit with 37/13.50/18 inch Pro Comp Xtreme A/T on it.
why would I ever have to put it back on??? I live in a state where there is no inspection?
Just because you don't have inspection now, doesn't mean you won't have it later.
Also just because the area that you live in doesn't have inspections doesn't mean you cant get fined in that area or if you are traveling in a different area. Remember it is a violation of Federal law to remove emissions equipment if it came from the factory with them. That trumps state law.

We didn't have inspections last year. We SURE do now.
so a straight 4" all the way back with cat delete is a better way to go than a turbo back exhaust? Don't care about sound especially when we are talking $50 for a piece of pipe compared to $700 for a new turbo back???

Is this an oxymoron?? 4" all the way back with cat delete to me is a turbo back. Did i miss something?
I must have missed something my self I thought that turbo back was only with a muffler thats it can some one please help me understand
No turbo backs also make an allowence for the cat as well. You would have to order what they call a "test pipe" in order to delete the cat. Or you just take a saw and cut it out and weld in a pipe, but a turbo back can also include a spot for the cat as well.
Techcnically speaking a turbo back exhaust just means that you have an a/m exhaust that goes from the turbo to the tip, while a cat back start after the cat to the tip of the exhaust.
