I just took delivery of our new 2011 F350 6.7. The only item I did not particularly like on the 2011 were the wheels and tires, 20" blingy options. I had them change them over from a 2010 Lariat with the 2010 blingy 20" option. I liked the squared off finish better than the not perfect curved design. Thought it suited the truck better. Any way, cut to the chase. Since then the tpms is acting up and I cannot reset or retrain the sensors as per the instructions. I know, go back to the dealer. I like to figure things out myself and avoid dealers, even when the truck only has 800 miles. Any ideas or do I just make an appointment and head back to tell them to fix it.
I guess my deeper question is, is there a difference between the tpms on the 2010 with the Goodyear ATS tires and the 2011 with Michelins? The tires are all inflated to what the door pillar says, unless the 2010 senders are pre programmed to a different pressure.
Yes the sensors are differnt the older rims have the band sensors. The 2011 has the stem sensors when I swapped out my rims from factory 18s to 09 20s I had my 2011 sensors put into the 09 rims and have not had a problem.

Question on the same subject - does anyone know how to completely disable the tpms on a 2011 f350? I put winter tires on with no sensors, so I kerp getting the warning messages of course. Thanks.
+1 on the sensors not working on anything but 2011. Your dealer should have , ok ok I should know the dealers are pretty useless and ignorant of facts. They should change them becasue guess what's going to happen when some sucker gets stuck with mismatched wheels and sensors?
2nd question; it's been talked about and nobody knows how, and nobodies dealers know how, and the tire store that changed my Mich LTX out for the BFG's didn't know either.
Best "guess" was to find the fuse/module that controls the system, but it was theorized that it would still have the alarm beeping at you or worse.
Stopped by the dealership on the way home from work and they fixed it, for now. Maybe the warning will come on again tomorrow, maybe it wont. I'll keep you posted but the sensors are still the 2010 units that came with the wheels.

My 2010 has stem sensors, maybe that was the cut off year?
My TPMS warning stopping coming on after about two weeks after I put tires on that did not have them in it (2011 F-350). Not sure why - might be that after a two week period, the system is programmed to stop the alerts? I didn't do anything to it other than press the "ok" button each time the warning came on.
So far so good, maybe it just needed a re-boot. They told me that the stem sensors and the strap sensors both send the same signals so I should not have an issue again. We'll see come time to rotate the tires.
