Does anyone know what the curb weights are for 1985-1996 model years with the 300 inline-6 and the 302 Windsor? This information is necessary for maybe towing the vehicle with all four wheels down behind a diesel pusher motorhome with a 10,000 lb. rated hitch and towing capacity.
The curb weight of a Bronco can vary greatly, depending on the optional equipment, luxuries, amenities, add-ons, etc, etc.
My '81 with a 300 weighed in at about 4000 when I had it weighed at a salvage yard. It has NOTHING as far as amenities go. No headliner, carpet, electric windows, cruise, A/C. Back panels were pressboard instead of molded plastic with pockets, etc. etc. Bucket seats.
When they start getting the full treatment with all the luxuries, the weight really piles on. Then, add on tow bars, winches, roll bar, high lift jacks, tools, and other user additions, and I've heard of some Broncos upwards of 6500 lbs. That's over one TON more than mine.
So, point being, unlike a car, the curb weight is very subjective in a Bronco depending on what its equipped with. But if I had to guess, I'd say start at about 4000 lbs as the base. That's about as light as they'll get from the factory, and that is bare bones. Then, estimate accordingly for all the optional equipment and addons they have over that.
