I have searched and read the different threads on slow power windows, but can't seem to find the answer to my question. I have a 2005 EXPY EB 4x4 103K miles and the power windows are starting to slow down both up and down. When two or more of the power windows are being operated they are even slower. Is it a relay issue, or motor problem? Any leads on where to start would be appreciated.
7 out of 10 times it's a motor issue, 2 out of 10 times it's the switch contacts deteriorating, and the last 1 out of 10 is due to corroded/failing electrical connections.
So 10 out 10 times, it come down to old fashion detective, testing and diagnostic work to get to the bottom of it. I will be starting all of the above hopefully this weekend!!
Sounds like the motors are getting bad, or there is a bad connection somewhere. You could try to lube the window regulator assembly to help with friction.
Prior to one of the front window regulators failing the window was moving slower than normal. Then started making a grinding noise. Then it jammed up and I hadda put a new one in.
Let us know what you find.
