how cold is it where you are right now? because while it may be a crank or two the gp's should still start the truck. Are you sure they are good?
As for testing the unit, i am not 100 percent there but its a 1000w unit i believe so it will cause a major drain on most any electrical system. Mine could make the garage light flicker just a tad when the timer kicked off. Aside from pulling it out, i would imagine an ohm reading but i dont know the numbers.
And I wouldn't bet any of the glow plugs are still good, they are acdelcos, and when I took them out they looked ok and the tips are not swelling or anything, I just don't have the extra $$$ right now to buy all knew motorcrafts.
On a side note when I crank the truck I and smell fuel being burnt, but no smoke.
if you are not seeing smoke that isnt terrible but it means you are probably smelling unburnt fuel, meaning it isnt hot enough to combust. at 66, i dont think you would even need gp's if the motor is tight. If i crank for 8-10 seconds, it will fire 9 times out of ten if its above 60. Something is off there and if it isnt smoking even a little, you might not be getting all your fuel....if you disconnect the supply line from the filter head, how much fuel are you getting? cant remember the amount per 10 seconds of cranking but i think its a pint. i think.
Alright, one of my injectors was pissing diesel, so I changed that out and I changed the O-rings on my return lines, and now it's puffing white smoke when I crank it, and I can here it trying to start it's just not going!
What else can I try?
I know I could use WD40, but if I don't have to I don't want to.
