I need new front bump stops for my 2003 4X4. I see some folks here use Energy Suspension. When I look online, they all have a single attachment bolt, but my stock bump stops have 2 bolts (forward and aft of the bumper). Are the energy suspension bumps stops really a direct replacement? Is there a hole under the stock mounting plate (doesn't feel like it, but I haven't pulled the old mounting plates yet) or do the ES bump stops use one of the factory bolt locations?
i went throough the same thing you are and ended up getting the newer style squarish bump stops. i think its 03 and newer they started putting the square ones on anyway.......
Thanks for the input. I ended up getting a slightly different Energy Suspension model (in black). They are smaller than the OEM stops, but made from a harder material. The OEM stops have a mounting plate and 2 bolts, but there is a hole in the frame between the OEM mounting bolt holes, so any stop with a single bolt will work. The stop bolt just barely cleared a bolt that runs horizontally through the frame.
