I' m looking at a 2008 F150 that has everything I want except reverse sensing. Can the factory system be added? My understanding is that I'd need the bumper/sensors, control box, dash switch and bezel. Is the wiring already there? Would I need anything else? Not really interested in an aftermarket system.
I've driven a truck with the system and was pretty happy with the performance. I'm really looking for a "clean" stock type setup without anything stuck to the dash etc...

Oh I'm not disliking the system as a whole. It really works great when parallel parking, backing into a parking space, etc. It likes "big objects"
I find that it is inconsistent with smaller objects, especially if they are round. Like those 3ft tall concrete pillars (8-10 inch round) that they use for barriers. You can't seem them over the tailgate, and the sensors are not good in picking them up b/c they are round and shoot the radar back at odd angles.
I've found that the system also doesn't like leafy branches.
Just my observations. It does keep me from backing into other cars which I love, but I'd rather not hit anything like those pillars!!!
Either way, I wish you well with whichever route you take.
I am pretty sure it can be added but it will require some new dash pieces and everything else that is required for the system but I am willing to bet it can be done and make it look stock.
