I have a 2013 F350 XLT, CC, SRW, 6.7L. It did not come with TPMS as an installed option. What would be required to install an OEM TPMS? If that is feasible, I assume i would need to have some programming enabled to make it active. Does this make sense, or would be it better to just add an aftermarket system like one from TST?
A 13' xlt doesn't have tpms? Are you positive I thought it was a standard feature these days. Most every car since 08' has them Evan a flipping Kia these days they come standard on. But a 50k truck doesn't. That just ain't right. Scroll through your info center or when you first turn on the key look for a light that looks like a tire and exclamation point.
I know, I was a little surprised as well. I've scrolled through the info center and setup several times and seen nothing of it. I'll have to dig out the Maroni and check through it as well.
My 2012 F350XLT just has the idiot warning that comes on when a tire is really low. I installed a TPMS on my 5th Wheel that gives me constant readings on exact tire pressure and air temperature inside the tire. The system I purchased came with 6 sending units (flo thru) that went on the valve stems. I only used 4 for my 2 axle 5th Wheel and plan on putting the extra 2 on the rear tires of my F350.

Thanks JandC. I must just have the idiot light. My owners manual indicates that it is on the truck. I would like to do like you did and add a TPMS for our 5er also. What system did you go with?

And thanks to everyone for your responses.

You are correct, the TPMS system in these trucks alerts you which tire is low accompanied by the light, pretty minimal.
I think a real-time TPMS monitor would be a great feature to have!
I got the TST Model 507 with flow through monitors. I got it on sale but can't recall the price. Camping World and numerous places have it. The kit I purchased came with 6 sensors, but I have heard some guys getting ones that only have four. The monitor for inside the truck is about the size of an I-Phone 5. You set your high and low limits for each tire monitored and the pressure ranges you want. It any tire goes outside those limits the alarm goes off and believe me when I tell you....you will hear it! It constantly goes from one tire to the other and shows both pressure and temperature in that tire. The new 507 systems are much better than some of the older ones because the batteries last for at least 2 years and you can replace them yourself, unlike the old units that had to be sent in for replacement.
