Smile New Guy Here With A Lift Question!

What's going on guys, my name is Dan and I'm from Orlando, Fl. I'm a newbie here but not new to the forums, I'm apart of SVTPerformance.com and got referred here. Little bit about me, I have a 92' F-150 XLT Extended Cab with a Jasper 302 with approximately 60k on the clock. Only "mods" so far are a 4in Rancho lift with BFG A/T 35s. Only engine mod is Hedman longtubes leading back to 2 1/4 straight pipes (no cats, no mufflers) and she's my baby

On to my question.

Next year I'm coming into some money and I'd like to lift her a little higher. I'm definitely going with a custom suspension lift. Ideally I'd like to do a 12" suspension would 40s but am not sure how to go about it.

As of right now I have a Dana 44 and a Ford 9inch with 4.10s. If I keep these and stick in some 5.13s do you guys think this would be sustainable for that big of a lift or not? The guy I went to was thinking about sticking in Super Duty axles but I don't want to spend more money if I can help it if these will still do the trick.

Also, I know the 302 is heavily underpowered for these trucks but I really couldn't say no for the steal of a price I got it for. Do you think that the stock motor and tranny will be ok or do I need to mod the motor and beef it up a little bit to help her out a bit? I'm pretty sure that's all the questions I have....Anyways thanks for the help guys, I appreciate it!

Gears would be your best bet, 5.13s sound like a bit much, I would prolly go with 4.88s. You have a D44 TTB in the front and a Ford 8.8 in the back. Both will be ok if you dont go too nuts on the rocks. Save up and swap in a 351w, I did, worth every penny. Nothing tricky about the swap, just buy yourself a 5.8 Y pipe off the bat, and your set. Everything else bolts it super easy like.

If your muding it ... I don't think your D44 up front will last to long turning 40's. I think 35's is about the limit. Might want to look in to upgrading that axle to a D60 solid axle.

Let's say I do want to spend the extra cash, do you think the Super Duty axles would be the better bet than the D60?
