well ford did a model change in 80. you could make the 82 motor/tranny work in the 79. you just cant bolt a 351w to a tranny that had a 351m hooked to it, wrong bolt patterns.
Honestly you can scrap that 82 and not bother yourself with anything from it.
Tires/rims are pretty much the only thing along with the Ford 9" rear from the 82.

Kem said it best. The redesign between 79 and 80 pretty much negates the interchangeability of just about everything. Wheels, tires and light bulbs. The Bronco got slightly smaller and every component changed with the possible exception of the 9" rear axle but since the frame changed, the spring perches aren't even in the same place.
