Has anybody tried Rotella T5 semi synthetic yet ? I was at wally world this week end and it was on sale for $11.50 a gallon so I picked up 4 . Gotta wait another 700 miles till I try it.
i just changed mine...i was using 15w40 motorcraft. i really have not noticed any difference in sound or start up...i have only had it in for about 800 miles though. im probably going to do 5w40 next...good luck
I put it in my truck a few weeks ago & have over 2000 miles on it already (trip to BTS) & so far I like it. The coldest it has been so far is around 40 at night but it has started up fine.

You were up in Lead Hill thats not to far from me just a couple hrs. Thanks for the input I just couldn't pass it up for the same price as regular Rotella T.

The price is what lured me in. I figured with the 2000 mile trip,i'll be almost half way to a change @ 5000 miles. If I don't like how it acts when the weather turns cold I can just change it in a few months. I sent an e-mail to Blackstone to see if they could give me any idea on oil change life on the T5 & they said the average oil change is 6000 miles on our motor. So the cold weather will be the deciding factor.
I'm hoping for a little easy start in the cold also. I mean it doesn't get really cold down here but my truck sits outside in the yard at work for a week at a time with no plug ins anything to make it start easier .
Did you get the 10w-30 or 10w-40 from wally world? I just started running the T5 10-40 and my truck seems to be a little more quiet hasn't been cold enough yet to see if it help with cold starts? I was informed to use the 10-40 instead of the 10-30.
Theres no T-5 10-40 syn. blend around here to be found either. My wife picked up the 10-30 T-5 by accident and I asked folks here if that would be suitable to use in our trucks and most if not everybody that responded sugested using at least the 10-40 because of the weight factors. Still waiting for the 10-40 syn. to give it a try.
