1996 F-350 7.3 PSD 4X4 STOCK.I want order gauges but this is my first diesel and i dont know how much boost the truck should have.will a 35 psi gauge work, are do i need more.any help would be appreciated.
With my mods I can get 32psi boost. If you get over 40psi then you'll be putting out over 400hp and will need to put in head studs. I would say 35psi gauge would be fine unless you will be going all out in mods. By the way, if they had powerstrokes back in 1196 we should be flying to Pluto by now at warp speed LOL!!
Some people like them, some don't. I have them and all was good till the other day and I blew my boost pressue line off. I kicked it out of overdrive and got after it a bit to pass a car with the trailer on and it popped off. It just slides on, its tight but still.. It's a poor design. Gauges have been working good otherwise.
Just installed my guages tonight.. It got late and had an hour drive home so we didnt drill and tap the exhaust probe and water temp. ill finish it tomorrow. fit and finish isnt as nice as the ISS pros but i like these guages. Alot of people around here have them and they say they're spot on. We'll see..
You bet Darin, every tool box should have some, great stuff. I even sealed up a high pressure AC line once good enough to get home to fix it right. When I put it on, I don't mess with it until the next day, it takes awhile to dry all the way through.
