Cheap source for Electric Vacuum Pump
The vent in my 2005 F250 went to defrost and was "stuck" there. I found that the electric vacuum pump had burned up.
Ford wanted $248
Auto Zone could special order it #904-214 for $173.99
Oreilly's could order it for $149.99
NAPA ordered it for me (from their warehouse to their store with no freight charge) for $84.19 NAPA part #600-2973 It is made in China and has a 1 year warranty. What was interesting is that the number stamped on the pump was 904-214. The exact same pump that AutoZone was trying to sell me for $173.99 and it only has a 3 month warranty from them. I have been buying a lot of my stuff from Auto Zone but have learned my lesson.
Ford said that the part was on it's third revision and I don't know if that means that it has been improved or not. Since I plan on trading the truck spring or early summer the NAPA part is good enough for me.
