Where can I find the parts to take a full time 4-wd that has been converted, back to the original full time 4-wd? I know all you are going to come down on me for wanting the full time 4-wd but I had one once and loved it. Most trucks I find have the conversion done to them. Can a person put the pieces back on the front hubs and do away with the lock outs and maintain the part time transfer case? I'm talking a Dana 44 and a NP 203 tc.
3/4 ton with 8 bolt wheels. I don't have a truck yet, still in the searching phase. The one I had 15 yrs ago was a '76 F250 Highboy. I think I'm coming into my midlife crisis because because of the strong urge and desire to have another 1. I've kicked myself in the *** more than once for selling it.
the solid hub flanges on the front axle may be tough to find as they ended up getting tossed out , thats what i did decades ago when i put hubs on my old 77 high boy .
i have heard that some use flanges as suppose to be stronger than lockouts for some applications , so may be some of the 4x4 shops will have them !! might want to get a copy of one of the off road magazines cause they will have a whole bunch of distributors to look at !!
The flanges and the little dust/hub cap to cover the ends will be the hardest to find. If I can find the right spline count and size I might be able to make or weld something together.
