331 REAR END

Anybody have the 250 with 331 rear end in it? If so how does it pull? What kind of Mileage are you getting out of it. Been looking at one but I am hestitant because of the gearing....

I wouldn't want gears that tall, even with stock tires.

I believe that gear ratio is only available with the diesel engine, at least in the 2011 models. I'm not sure why, other than the motor produces enough torque to pull the Queen Mary around Lake Havasu, so maybe you don't need higher gearing.

Well, if its for a 2011 they have a lower 1st gear in the transmission, so 331 isn't too bad. I still wouldn't go taller than 3.55s though, and with the 5-speed definitely no taller than 3.73s.

I would opt for 3.55's, preferable to have a 3.73 but with the new 6 speed auto I think you can get by with the 3.55's.

Yes it is a 2011 Diesel........will be towing a 31ft Travel Trailers with it. 6700 lbs. Stealership said it would do it just fine but I tend not to believe them.

If you'll be in a lot of hilly terrain, or might ever bump up the tire size a little, I'd go with the 3.55s minimum.
