When any pressure is put on the brake pedel it pulls itself to the floor and sticks. I have to pull it hard to get the pedel to return and unlock. It does this even if the truck is not moving but only when running. It must be some kind of vacume problem right? What should I start checking?
1993 190,000 miles ,the brakes stop the truck pretty decently, the vacum booster looks new, ill take a closer look tomorrow I just got the truck today for 300 bucks. Only other problem is that it shifts hard when it in drive, its shifts smooth when manually shifting, but it slips out of overdrive or 3rd under light throtle. Transmission was said to be recently rebuilt.

The brake booster is shot, replace it.

Pull the codes, several sensors including the TPS and VSS are critical to proper transmission operation.
I also vote for the brake booster, i would try to disconnect the vacuum hose to it and try again, you'll have to press much harder on the pedal then, if u did'nt know and start driving down the road :s
