[updated:LAST EDITED ON 22-Aug-02 AT 09:47 AM (EST)]My 77 F-250 has great brakes, but the pedel sticks, or returns very slowly, and usually needs to be pulled up with my toe to get it fully returned. I have changed the master clynder, and removed an old trailer brake that was on it, but it did not help. I would be thankful for any ideas.
Thanks.

There is a linkage behind the booster. It is a Z bar arrangement. It might be easiest to get to if you pull the booster. Clean and lube the linkage and it will probably help.
that might help but if it doesnt listen for a vaccum leak when you press the brake peadle. if there is a vaccum leak sound the brake booster is no good
the previous message is correct, there is a hinge mechanism behind the booster, mine was kinda seized up after the years. either get it
lubed up. or what i ended up doing was i elliminated that hinged piece
behind the booster, i went and bought a brand new ford 1976 f250 4x4
booster, which does not use that mechanism. a 76 booster is a straight
shot from the pedal to the booster with nothing in between. works great! good luck glen bransfield
