I put a Transgo shift kit in my 1992 f350 with the E4OD.
After finishing, the truck does not have first and fourth gears. I think that this may be an electrical problem since the electrical connector does not seem to fit very well. I completely disconnected the plug and there was no change.
My question is what exactly does that electrical plug control? would this be the source of my problem?
An electrical problem will not cause a no 4th gear. With no electrical hookups at all you should get 2nd in manual 2 and 4th in Drive.
It's easy to mistake the manual 2nd and 4th for 2nd and 3rd (I did just that about a month ago..); it sounds to me like you lost power to your trans. Check the wiring and fuse.
I was able to fix the connection. Now if I shift it manually I get all the gears. It won't work properly if I just leave it in, drive. Also the over-drive on/off button wont turn off over-drive. The light will turn on and off but nothing else happens. I'm also getting code 624 "Electronic Pressure Control solenoid circuit fault" Would this be related to that same main connector, or is there another problem?
