Transfer case compatibility

I am starting to get tired of the search function on this site.

Will a t-case from an automatic bolt up to a t-18 transmission (from a 4x4)?

TIA

Yes, as long as both are post 77. Ford has been using a 31 spline t-case input since then.

Awesome, thanks.

I got a 80 Ranger lariat 4x4 the other day, looking to swap my 6 into it, but it has a 400/c-6 combo. Take everything off of my 4x2 and make it work, there is a jy relatively near that has a t-18 (for a 4x4) without the t-case for 180 bucks.
