The other supervisor on my rig also has this setup when he saw mine and we both love it. Hope I helped. Sorry if I seemed panicked. lol. I get excited to show people. Ford obviously thought of the problem of people not wanting holes in their floor roof and dash and keeping the clutter and gizmos to a minimum and I'm stoked about the little groove that allows it to be hidden away like this.
I don't remember exactly which one it is. The company I work for paid for everything. Just tell them to leave enough wire on the antenna to hold it up to your ear while your sitting in your truck. I roll with my phone and the antenna sitting in the cup holder some times to so I can see that I have texts or emails. And pugged into the 12v charger.
II have a Cobra 29 NWBT that I had installed in my 08 F350 way down on bottom of dash in the center of the truck. I have the center seat/console.This worked well for visual and voice. On my 2011 I will have the same center/seat console. But I noticed were I had it installed on the 08 there is a door that lowers with cup holders now. I don't have the 2011 yet but I hope this large CB can fit.
I would like to put my 2950 ranger in my truck but don't really see a good place to put it and haven't found a good ant mount for the truck that doesn't require me tearing up the truck to do it. I am using my hand held for now.
If anyone figures out a good way to install the ant. and a radio in the F250 I would like to hear it.
thanks
If you have the console I can't help. If you have the middle seat like I do I bolted it to the front of the cup holder on lower dash. The antenna I mounted on my drivers side cowling just like the FM/AM antenna on the pass side because of my over hang on my camper and going into drive thu's,banks, etc.
Didn't think about the height of the ant. but thanks for bringing that up. Yes I have the middle seat in mine.
thanks for the heads up on that. I'm trying to get away from anyone seeing holes if I trade.
