VMP Performance F-150 Runs an 11 Second Quarter-Mile!
There are all kinds of Ford truck enthusiasts, but when you close your eyes and think of a modified Ford truck, you probably picture a lifted diesel with huge tires. That’s pretty forgivable, but there are other ways to have fun in a Ford truck.
Even though the blue oval has long since replaced the SVT Lightning with the Raptor, there are still plenty of truck fans who want the utility of a pickup with the performance of a Mustang. If you’re one of those enthusiasts, there’s good news!
In this YouTube video by, VMPPerformance, you can watch a VMP-tuned, 2016 Ford F-150 equipped with the 5.0 liter V8 set a blistering 11.6-second quarter mile run, with an incredible trap speed of 119 miles per hour.
Those are impressive numbers for a muscle car, let alone something you can fit several sheets of drywall and a few of your buddies into. I’d be willing to bet that fully loaded, this truck can probably run the quarter mile faster than my ’96 Mustang Cobra.
VMP Performance got the job done with their TVS supercharger kit, Kooks longtube headers, high-flow cats, and a tune performed in-house. According to VMP, these upgrades are good for 660 horsepower at the rear wheels! VMP, if you’re reading this: I’m down to try that race I mentioned. Just name the time & place!
