The Wildest Ford Truck Crashes We’ve Ever Seen

These Ford truck crashes run the gamut from intentional to accidental, but in each case, they’re equally eye-opening.
Not a day goes by when we don’t come across some wild video on the internet, with many of them depicting all sorts of car crashes. These types of videos can be equal parts terrifying and entertaining, depending on what we’re looking at, and certainly give us plenty of material to waste away hours of our time lulling over. Given the fact that it’s been in business for well over 100 years to this point, many of these videos depict Ford truck crashes, too.
Thus, we’ve rounded up what are indeed some of the wildest Ford truck crashes we could find in one place, but they certainly vary in a number of ways. Whether they’re showing off vintage crash footage, purposeful attempts to destroy a vehicle for clicks or educational purposes, or just true accidents, each one is compelling in its own unique way.
First up, we have a pretty shocking crash that occurred when two stolen vehicles – a Mustang and a Super Duty – smash into each other at high speed in a residential neighborhood in Bradenton, Florida. Luckily, none of the bystanders – who are clearly too close to the action – were injured, at least.
Many have undoubtedly seen this classic clip, in which we get to witness one of the craziest Ford truck crashes in history. In the short video, we watch as an F-150 Raptor catches serious air, only to crash down with such tremendous force that the airbags are deployed inside the cabin.
In this interesting video, we get to see how the old, steel-bodied Ford F-150 held up in crash testing compared to the newer aluminum model. Interestingly, the steel pickup seems to suffer less damage in that testing, as one might assume.
In this video, we’re treated to a pretty interesting test showing how dangerous it can be to drive around in something like a Ford F-150 with a rusted out frame. Such a thing has a large negative impact on a vehicle’s structure prowess, as we can clearly see from these results.
Going back a bit further in time, this clip shows a 1979 Ford F-150 crashing into a 1987 Ford Escort. The older pickup’s cabin remains fully intact during this head-on collision, but the compact Escort doesn’t exactly fare quite as well.
Speaking of how far we’ve come in terms of vehicle safety, this footage showing a 2001 Ford F-150 being treated to IIHS moderate overlap crash testing is a clear indicator of that. The truck suffers some seriously scary damage in that test, which earned that model a “poor” rating – and left a dummy in pretty rough shape.
Things get even worse when you stick a heavy load in the bed, as we can see in this crash footage for an older F-150, too. In this case, not only does the front end suffer major damage, but the bed winds up imploding, too.
In a very different kind of video, this Super Duty was jumped on purpose over a steep slope, which helped it catch a ton of air. However, it didn’t land quite as gracefully, causing major damage to the older hauler.
