Poll: Is Ford’s Divorce-Themed Ad Dark or Touching?

The modern world of marketing and advertising is a complex beast, and companies and their respective PR agencies must come up with creative ways to captivate niche and general audiences alike.

Ford Denmark’s recent ad campaign set out to shed some light on an issue that’s been hardly discussed publicly—divorce. While Ford’s creative agency credits the American manufacturer for the bravery to approve such controversial campaign, Ford says it was the agency that deserves merit for screen writing such risky content. And I agree.

The three-part video series showcases a family going through the multiple stages of divorce. The first episode shows the painful moments the kids must endure as Mom and Dad split up, while the second episode focuses on a parent’s frustration with divided homes. The third and last episode climaxes in a family emergency, in which at every stage Ford vehicles play a crucial role. Also, how cool is that Fusion station wagon!

If you’ve ever been affected by divorce, you know that vehicles play more roles than just transportation, they become meeting places, hang outs, and in many situations—safe places.

What do you think—too dark or too good?
