It May Not Be Red, But This 1971 Ford F-250 is a Fire Truck

1971 Ford F250 Brush Fire Truck 3

Back in the Nixon era, this 1971 Ford F-250 Custom 4X4 was used to fight brush fires. It looks as if it won all of them. The patina it’s developed in the decades since then doesn’t appear debilitatingly severe. This rig’s seller says, “The body is in very good condition and has very minimal light surface rust.”

The entire truck itself – 360-cid V8 with 2bbl carb and four-speed manual transmission and all – has only 19,700 miles on it, but it’s not clear whether or not it actually runs. Let’s hope the fire inside that big engine hasn’t gone out.

If you want this blaze battler, you still have time to put in your bid. Plenty of people already have because there’s no reserve on this rolling piece of fire-fighting history.
