Hennessey VelociRaptor 6×6 Will Set You Back Big Bucks
And you thought the 2018 Super Duty Limited was pricey at $100,000? Welcome to Hennessey’s idea of the ‘Big League.’
Exactly one year ago we broke the news about Hennessey’s plans of building a monster-sized 6×6 Ford F-150 Raptor, dubbed the VelociRaptor 6×6. The larger-than-life pickup was designed to resemble Mercedes-Benz’s G63 AMG 6×6, which is considered one of the world’s most off-road capable SUVs and sports a price tag of nearly one million dollars, pre-owned.
After a year of teasing us with a few images here and there, Hennessey has finally unveiled the real deal, sort of. They’ve announced that the VelociRaptor 6×6 will feature an extra-large wheelbase and 6×6 rear axles with locking differentials, although they didn’t specify how many could be electronically operated by the driver. Its starting price? A whopping $349,000.
In addition, it will retain the factory chosen Fox Racing suspension, but it will sport a largely modified version that shares little resemblance with the stock offering. Massive 20-inch wheels with beadlocks will be wrapped in equally large off-road rubber, which promises to make the large beast extremely capable on and off the road.
“The new 2017 Raptor is going to be one of the best all-around trucks ever built. We are excited to help take it to the next level both in terms of performance and exclusivity,” said John Hennessey. “Our VelociRaptor 6X6 is pure aggression on wheels–all six of them.”
Aside from the extra set of wheels and tires and the fancy suspension, the VelociRaptor can also boast 600 horsepower to allow its hefty self to move with ease. Oh, but if you thought that was included in the exorbitant price, think again! The performance package is extra, which includes a stainless steel exhaust, upgraded piping and bigger turbochargers for the 3.5-liter EcoBoost V6 for only $22,500.
In case you’re wondering what other goodies come separate, you can also equip the 6×6 with Brembo brakes, light bars, off-road bumpers, and ultra-swanky interior features.
The vehicular behemoth will make its official debut in just a few days at the 2017 SEMA show, but Hennessey is already taking orders.
