Generation Gap Not an Issue for Redditor’s F-Series Pickups

2017 Ford F-350 and 1952 Ford F-1

For one Redditor, 1952 F-1 and 2017 F-350 are the perfect bookends of F-Series history.

Thirteen generations ago, the Ford F-Series entered into our lives to handle every job we needed done. Over the decades, the F-Series evolved by leaps and bounds, leading to the amazing trucks we have today.

Thus, it warmed our hearts when we happened upon this pair of F-Series pickups on Reddit the other day, each serving as the bookend to the other.

1948 Ford F-2

Owned by Redditor reid52svt, the 2017 F-350 absolutely dwarfs its ancestor, the 1952 F-1. Of the F-1, the owner says “it’s running a 5.4L Supercharged with a bunch of upgrades,” a lot of which he pulled from a 2002 F-150 Lightning. He also has a 1948 F-2 in the works, whose flathead inline-six will remain in place.

As for the F-350, not much is known other than what the picture shows: an FX4 riding on aftermarket wheels. We guess the big Ford is the parts hauler for the little Fords. No matter what, though, it’s wonderful to see how far the F-Series has come since the first one arrived in 1948.
