Super Duties to Avoid, Bronco Burritos, RIP Ken Block, S650 VIN 001 & More! | Ford Fridays
Hand-picked Ford stories from the week include a tragic death, making burritos WITH a Ford Bronco, two great videos, and a must-read thread!
It may just be just the first week of 2023 but there was a lot going on in the world of Ford. A motorsport icon was tragically killed, but on the MUCH lighter side of things we learned how to cook burritos under the hood of a Bronco. The stories covered the full spectrum and many of us are still trying to shake off the holiday hangovers. So, we handpicked just for you some of the top Ford news items to break in the first week of the new year. Some funny, some sad, but all newsworthy. So, before you gas up your truck, or unplug you new F-150 Lightning to head out to work. Spend a few minutes catching up on all things Ford.
Must Watch Video: Do You REALLY Need an F-350?
A video was released recently on the Town and Country TV YouTube channel that takes a closer look at the 2023 F-250 and F-350. It also does a deep dive into the towing capabilities at each and which might be better for you. Obviously the truck you buy is ultimately up to you. But this video does a nice job of making sense of the myriad towing limits depending on how your Super Duty is configured. It may help you make a smarter choice.
Bronco Burritos
Sometimes news is delicious. Everyone loves the new Bronco, and everyone loves burritos. So why not combine the two and cook your burritos with your Bronco? It is easier than you may think. A post was recently made over on Bronco6g.com showing us how to do it. If you are ready to start cooking with gas, check out the thread HERE.
Ken Block Passes Away
We lost a motorsports icon this week when Ken Block was killed in a snowmobile accident in Utah. Block had collaborated with Ford for over a decade on numerous projects. A man like this does not come around very often. He changed the automotive landscape and the way car videos are made. This was by far the worst Ford news of the week. For more on his life and passing click HERE.
S650 Mustang GT VIN #001
The 2024 Mustang GT was revealed last year to much fanfare. Like many of you, we can’t wait to get our hands on one. And for the really impatient (and wealthy) Barrett-Jackson will be auctioning off VIN #001 of the new S650 Mustang GT. It will be crossing the block in Scottsdale later this month. It is lot # 3004 and you can check it out HERE.
Must Watch Video: 1969 Ford F-100 Restomod
We love a good restomod truck and this one is a beauty. It is a 1969 Ford F-100 with more modifications than we can list. A video walkaround of this amazing build was recently posted on the Garage Collective Motors YouTube channel. It is a small channel with only 103 subscribers currently so you may not have seen this rig. We want to make sure you didn’t miss it.
Forum Thread of the Week: Swollen Lug Nuts
This may come as a surprise to some of you but the lug nuts on your Ford truck can actually swell which can make it a challenge to get them off if you don’t have the proper socket. A thread was recently started in the Ford Truck Enthusiasts forum that discusses this issue. We felt that the information shared in the thread could be useful to many of you so we wanted to be sure you all saw it. Check it out HERE.
