Florida Car Fest Says Adios with Plenty of Classic Ford Trucks
You had granddaddies of the hot rod truck movement like a stunning 1929 roadster pickup sporting a Stromberg-carbed flathead. There was a very yellow first-gen Bronco with 289 power. Modern customs like a wild 1954 F-100 panel truck with crazy graphics and a custom interior were well represented. Heck, there were even cool rides like a 1952 F-1 that looks 100% stock, yet packs a 428 under the hood.
From stock to a real racer with massive twin-turbo huffers, there was something for every fan of Ford trucks. Sadly, 2018 marked the last year for the event. NPD cites a number of reasons for ending the gathering, including a shrinking interest in car shows in general, which is hard to believe considering a whopping 2,000-plus rides showed up this year. But this sad ending does make an important point. If you haven’t been to a car show in a while, round up your kids and get out there!
