AWE’s New F-150 Tremor Exhaust Sounds AMAZING (Coyote & EcoBoost)

We know the 5.0L Coyote V8 sounds incredible, but AWE’s F-150 Tremor exhaust may also be the best EcoBoost exhaust of all time. (Not hyperbole.)

The F-150 Tremor debuted in 2021 as Ford’s serious off-roader for those who need more than an FX4, but who don’t need to go full-Raptor. It’s the rig you want if you need one truck for work, family, off-roading, and towing. It’s taller, tougher, and outfitted with a bunch of goodies snagged from the FX4 and Raptor packages. And you even get to choose between the 3.5L EcoBoost V6 or the 5.0L Coyote V8. They are amazing trucks. But despite having dual exhaust setups, they sound utterly forgettable from the factory. Thankfully, our friends over at AWE put together a new F-150 Tremor exhaust system that sounds nothing short of amazing.

But you don’t have to take my word for it…

Do yourself a favor and have a listen. The video has, effectively, four sections:

  • 00:00:00 – 00:02:18 — 3.5L EcoBoost V6 Non-Resonated Catback
  • 00:02:19 – 00:04:22 — 3.5L EcoBoost V6 Resonated Catback
  • 00:04:23 – 00:06:32 — 5.0L V8 Non-Resonated Catback
  • 00:06:33 – 00:08:40 — 5.0L V8 Resonated Catback

In each, AWE conducts a variety of exterior and interior sound tests — free-revving, acceleration, fly-bys, and casual cruising.

AWE F-150 Tremor Exhaust Details

The 0FG Exhaust Suite for the 14th Gen 2021+ Ford F-150 Tremor is available in two variants. Resonated (SKU: 3015-33402) and Non-resonated (SKU: 3020-33402). The main difference between the two systems, as you can probably guess, is that the Resonated iteration includes a resonator in the mid-pipe for a more “sophisticated” tone. Otherwise, both are 3-inch catback systems made from U.S.-sourced CNC mandrel-bent .065” wall T304L stainless steel. Outback, 5-inch slash-cut, double-walled tips (available in diamond black) tuck perfectly into the Tremor’s bumper.

Engineered, designed, and manufactured in-house and in the USA, AWE exhausts feature AWE’s noise-canceling “180 Technology” and are direct bolt-on (no cutting required) with guaranteed fitment, a lifetime warranty, and guaranteed no check engine light. Plus, as catback systems, they are both 50-state emissions legal.

At the time of publishing, the non-resonated version costs $1,495. The resonated iteration costs $1,595.

Will This AWE Exhaust Fit My F-150?

This 0FG Exhaust Suite was designed specifically for the 2021+ F-150 Tremor. The are no separate part numbers for the 3.5L EcoBoost V6 and 5.0L V8 engines. Just resonated and non-resonated.

However, AWE let me know that this exhaust should also fit most other 4-Door SuperCrew F-150s with a 145-inch wheelbase and 67.1-inch bed as long as it doesn’t have the PowerBoost hybrid drivetrain. The caveat is that you need to make sure that your truck has the factory bumper with dual exhaust cutouts (The Rattler and XL Black Appearance Package come to mind) or you need to source one.

First Reactions

AWE F-150 Tremor Exhaust

Exhaust sound is an extremely subjective topic, of course. For me, I love tone and loathe drone, so AWE’S F-150 Tremor exhaust is a home run in ways I’ve never heard before.

3.5L EcoBoost V6: This engine pulls like a hot rod diesel with all that torque. It’s a super fun engine to drive, especially with the Tremor’s 3.73 rear gears. But it sounds terrible from the factory. However, listening to those non-resonated clips above, that was the first time I’ve ever thought to myself, wow, I want a 3.5L EcoBoost in my garage AND I want to hear it when I drive it. I genuinely think it’s the best-sounding EcoBoost on the market so far.

5.0L Coyote V8: It’s hard to make a V8 sound bad, but some folks do. Not AWE, of course. As I’m typing this, I’m going back and forth between resonated and non-resonated and it’s really hard to pick one. For my purposes, I like the way the resonated setup is a touch warmer and smoother in tone. That’s probably the one for me. But, oh, man, I’d be lobbying for all of my friends to get the non-resonated version so I could hear the truck tearing around in full beast mode.

Bottom line: I still need to experience this in person for a full review, but based on this well-recorded audio piped into some loud, high-fidelity speakers, AWE has perfected the F-150 Tremor with these systems.
