Wild Scene

Street takeovers - or side shows, if you will - have become a pretty big problem in the U.S. recently, with reckless folks doing burnouts, donuts, and committing other silly acts not only on empty public roads - but at times, even in crowded traffic, essentially shutting them down. As one might imagine, these types of activities can be extremely dangerous, and that was clearly the case with this wild scene involving a Ford F-150 in Atlanta recently, as we can see in a video from the Instagram page taiboogie.

Total Takeover

This particular street takeover took place in a four-way intersection in the West Midtown area of Atlanta recently, and when the video commences, we can clearly see the black F-150 doing donuts in the middle of that intersection. A large crowd has gathered to soak in all the action, but unluckily for them, a Georgia State Police trooper was nearby and spotted what was happening.

Into the Crowd

The officer turned on his blue lights and proceeded to try and pull the truck over, but the driver wasn't interested in giving up. Instead, they attempted to speed away, but wound up driving directly into the nearby crowd - hitting multiple people along the way.

Successful Ending

Luckily, the officer was able to successfully perform a pit maneuver on the truck and bring it to a stop before it could cause even more damage, and as one might imagine, they proceeded to aggressively remove the driver from the pickup, pulling them out of the window to put a quick end to this particular problem.

Litany of Charges

According to Fox 5 Atlanta, the driver is a mere 20 years old - pretty common for these types of street takeover events - but he's now facing a litany of charges including the felony of fleeing and eluding, as well as reckless driving, hit-and-run, and causing serious injury by motor vehicle.

Bad for Everyone

As for the folks who were hit by the F-150, it's unclear what sort of condition they might be in. However, if nothing else, this footage provides us with a pretty clear example of why street takeovers are a bad thing for everyone involved - whether they be a participant, someone encouraging that type of behavior, or just an innocent bystander.
