2024 Mach-E GT Quietly Drops Performance Edition, Adds Bronze Appearance Package

Ford has quietly rolled most of the Mach-E GT Performance Edition features into the base 2024 Mach-E GT. Some sort of performance upgrade option will remain.
Ford Motor Company today announced a couple of new updates coming to the high-performance 2024 Mach-E GT. In GT form, a 91 kWh battery pack coupled to a dual-motor all-wheel-drive system produces 480 horsepower and 600 ft.-lbs of torque. It’s capable of launching the controversial all-electric Mustang SUV to 60 mph in under 4 seconds, making it quicker off the line than the V8-powered Mustang GT, Dark Horse, and Mach 1. (I’ve tested this personally.) It also features 280 miles of estimated EPA range as well as the Blue Cruise advanced/adaptive cruise control and comfortable seating for five adults.
So what’s new for 2024?

First, Ford plans to offer a new Mach-E GT Bronze Appearance Package. Available on Shadow Black, Star White Metallic Tri-Coast, and Eruption Green body colors, the package adds unique 20-inch wheels, Mach-E 4X and GT badging, and a new front “grille” all in a color Ford dubs Sinister Bronze. Coupled with Eruption Green from Ford’s press release, the whole thing gives off Eddie Bauer Explorer vibes (or possibly an ode to old-school British sports cars) and looks pretty sharp.
Goodbye, GT Performance Edition?

Which brings us to the larger news about the 2024 Mach-E GT. New for this year, the Mach-E GT’s standard feature set will include the MagneRide performance suspension, Brembo brakes with 385mm front rotors, and upgraded Ford Performance front seats. Those options, for the 2021 to 2023 model years, used to be exclusive to the Mach-E GT Performance Edition, a $5,000 option that also included an upgraded front electric motor that boosted peak torque to 634 ft.-lbs. and summer tires, which lowered the 0-60 mph time down to 3.5 seconds (*with a 1-ft rollout).
So, if all of these features are now standard, is the Performance Edition dead?
Yes and no. It appears the Performance Edition as a named package might be dead. But it also appears that Ford will be offering a similar (or perhaps greater) performance upgrade package as an option for Mach-E GT Bronze Appearance Package buyers. To quote Ford, this optional performance upgrade that will deliver “the quickest 0-60 time of any production Mustang Mach-E ever.” Does this mean we’ll see a 0-60 run of under 3.5 seconds? We can only hope.

Ford says 2024 Mach-E GT order banks will open up “later this winter.” We don’t yet know exactly how much the optional performance upgrade will cost, or everything it will include, but “the Bronze Appearance Package will be available at a starting price of $60,990.” For context, that’s $995 above the 2023 Mach-E GT base MSRP while including a lot more standard features. (It’s also very possible that, should one skip the Bronze Appearance Package, the base pricing will be even lower.)
