2020 Ford Super Duty: FTE Members Sound Off

2020 Ford Super Duty

With some styling tweaks and an enticing new gas engine, the 2020 Super Duty has most folks in our forums pretty excited.

Ford recently pulled the covers off its latest heavy duty pickup redo, the 2020 Super Duty. And by all early accounts, it looks like they’ve got another hit on their hands. But that’s to be expected, really. We tend to worry with each passing generation that the Blue Oval might mess something up, but they’ve got a pretty stellar track record, to say the least. Regardless, we’re always interested to see what our very own Ford Truck Enthusiasts members have to say. And they certainly weren’t afraid to share their opinions in this interesting thread.

In terms of design, the mid-cycle refresh for the Super Duty is certainly nothing earth shattering. But most of us feel like it’s still an improvement.

“The front end looks much better,” said Blwnsmoke. “My only complaint was the LED headlights. They did a nice job making them more like the current F-150. Nice Job Ford!!

“The Sport looks pretty nice with the LEDs,” added BIGDOG1974.

“I am very happy I ordered my 2019,” said mattymax. “I love the bold front end with the larger bars. The 2020 Super Duty looks more like an F-150. Not bad by any means. Still very nice.”

In terms of interior design, the 2020 Super Duty presents few changes. Which isn’t a bad thing for folks like wesd.

“I’m relieved they didn’t change the interior much. That’s my favorite feature of current truck. But I do like the new speed dial numerals. I had been convinced I’d buy a 2020 GMC HD, now I might end up with the Ford again. 7.3 or 6.7? It will depend on the numbers and MPG when towing. Let’s hope this is available in July. Whatever truck is on the lot first is what I’ll buy.”

2020 Super Duty

Overall, Ben Elliott feels like Ford hit the nail right on the head with the 2020 Super Duty.

“It’s hard to make everyone happy, but Ford might have gotten pretty close. People like me who got a ’19 or ’18 are glad that there aren’t enough changes to justify or regret buying a new truck. 2020 buyers know their HD won’t get redesigned for another 2 or 3 years, so they will get off the fence. People looking for a gas alternative with the incredible excitement of a potentially game changing motor will get it. This will also give the ’17-’20 owners time to be ready for what I would think would be a totally redesigned 2022 or 2023 model.”

So far, the vast majority of responses in this ever-growing thread are certainly positive. Pleasing the masses is obviously hard, but it sure looks like Ford’s got a hit on its hands with the refreshed Super Duty. But we want to know what you think. So head over here and tell us your first impressions of the all-new HD pickup. And let us know if you’re planning on picking one up!
