SPY SHOTS Will the 2016 Ford Super Duty Have a Manual Transmission? No Way!
Now that the aluminum F-150 is off and running, it’s time to focus our attention on the replacement for the Super Duty line of F-Series trucks.
We already know that the trucks will extensively use aluminum, just like the F-150. Now our crack team of spy photographers have some new photos that we can say with absolute uncertainty that the new Super Duty will have a manual transmission!
Wait, what year is it? That doesn’t sound right. Let’s try this again. The new Super Duty will have a transmission!
In all seriousness, these are the first spy shots we’ve seen of the new Super Duty since it caught on fire (below) during testing.
The cab configuration is a bit unusual, since we’ve only seen the the four door and regular cab versions. It’s possible that the this is an extended type of cab, or the camouflage is just hiding the single cab better than before.
Expect to see significant weight savings and more capacity with the new trucks. How much is yet to be seen, but now that F-150 production is nearing predicted levels, Ford can start scouring the globe to get all the aluminum it can.
We expect to see more about this truck in the coming weeks, but for now we’re just excited to see that it is not on fire! Let us know in the forums what you think!
