They just don’t get much better than this perfectly configured, tastefully upgraded classic Ford F-150.

When it comes to classic pickups, it’s just hard to beat a Ford F-150 from the ’70s. Among that decade’s many fine offerings, most consider the ’78 and ’79 to be the best of the bunch. But finding one with a short bed and/or four-wheel drive from this era isn’t exactly easy. Thus, when we spotted this perfectly optioned ’78 Ford F-150 on Reddit, we knew we had a winner.

Yes, the owner of this beautiful red rig, user elmo_punch, is one lucky dude. Because not only does he own what many would call the holy grail of Ford trucks, but it’s also in pretty impeccable condition. The body and paintwork looks mostly perfect, and hey, it’s red. With shiny chrome and perfect trim, there’s little to nitpick here.

The classic Ford F-150 also looks fantastic sitting on some modest aftermarket wheels and beefy BF Goodrich All-Terrain rubber. Thankfully, the owner resisted the urge to throw more modern rolling stock on there. We say thankfully because those sorts of things just don’t really belong on vintage trucks like this one. And he obviously made the right choice here.

Other than that, we don’t know a whole heck of a lot about this beautiful pickup. It does have a 360 under the hood and a 4-speed manual transmission. But that’s about it. No telling if he purchased the truck as is or did some work to it. But really, what more do you need to know?

This ’78 Ford F-150 is darn near perfect, after all. And most folks will obviously be more than a little envious of the owner. Heck, we certainly are, because there aren’t too many trucks we’d rather own than this one!
