1978 Ford F-150 Makes Disco Cool Again
Daily Slideshow: Your bell bottom jeans and Bee Gee records might be long gone, but this amazing Ford F-150 wears its '70s heritage with pride.
Questionable Fashion Choices
The late '70s were, well, a weird time for the world. Disco music reigned supreme, people met up under the glow of giant balls and adorned in bell bottom pants and huge hair. Folks did funny dances and yelled things like "Go Grease Lightning!" But even though all of this stuff is now (hopefully) relegated to the past, one thing we'll never get tired of are cool, '70s-style Ford trucks.
Screaming '70s
You won't find an old pickup that better exemplifies that bygone era than this 1978 Ford F-150 we spotted at Primo Classics, either. Mainly because everything about this truck, inside and out, just screams the '70s in every way possible.

Paint from the Past
We'll start with the proverbial elephant in the room. Which is the paint job, of course. Brown fade graphics laid over tan paint is something you certainly don't see much of anymore. But the treatment looks right at home on this F-150, and it's in amazing shape to boot.

Flare It Out
Then there are those cool fender flares, which are much more subdued than many '70s customs out there. Which is a good thing, obviously. And in this case, they help cover a set of larger rolling stock.

Extra Altitude
And that extra space is needed, of course, thanks to the lifted suspension that gets this F-150 up in the air. Much like the exterior of this beauty, the undersides are about as sanitary as they come.

Keepin' It Shiny
Thankfully, the builder/previous owner of this pickup didn't ditch the factory chrome, either. In fact, they added some in the form of those wheels and a large brush guard up front.

All the Right Stuff
Not to mention that giant rear step bumper. However, none of these goodies look out of place on this classy truck. Not even the big visor over the cab that has somehow fallen out of favor in recent years.

Shagadelic
Move to the interior of this beauty, and the song remains the same. Everything is neat, crisp, and very much influenced by the '70s. That includes the slotted steering wheel and nearly shag carpet, of course.

Tidy Insides
The bench seat matches that theme with a square stitched pattern that carries over from the factory door panels. Overall, it's an incredibly tidy and extremely clean cab that's about as inviting as they come.

Cooler Than Cool
Lift the hood, and you can clearly tell that this old Ford F-150 hasn't been mistreated in any way mechanically, either. Instead, this '70s dream lives on as one of the cleanest period survivors you'll ever see. It's even almost cool enough to bring disco back. Almost!
