Bradford Built Mounted Flatbed How to

A user from the FTE forums gives an easy-to-follow tutorial on how to get flat on a heavy duty truck.

Some truck owners are hesitant to do any modifications at home. So many concerns come to mind: What if I screw up my truck? Do I have the tools I need? Oh man, what if I screw up my truck? How long is this going to take? Serious, I cannot screw up my truck! Thankfully, you can stop the worry spiral and hop on the FTE forums.

Recently we came across a great tutorial on tow-to mount a flatbed on our forums. Forum member Blue Bronco 85 recently completed the job, and it looks great. Using a Bradford Built flatbed, he walked us through his transformation.

Said Blue Bronco 95, “Easy way to remove bed.”

Perfect clean removal.

Next cutting, measuring and assembling.

Cut to 45” truck frame is 38.5” and flatbed is 41.5. Measure hole widths in frame, and drilled with step bit to accept 5/8” grade 8 bolts with lock nuts. It’s hard to see but I made some 3/16 steel spacers from flatstock to space the two runners the correct height.

The finished product looks sturdy and badass.

Thanks to forum user Blue Bronco 85 for his great work. He was willing to even go the extra mile!

Test drive after mounting it to go get more beer.

And that’s how it’s done….
