For a very reasonable price, new Ford Performance calibrations unlock almost 100 ft.-lbs. of torque for Bronco Raptor and Ranger Raptor. With a warranty.

Over the past couple of years, the Raptor family has grown substantially, with the Ford Bronco Raptor and Ranger Raptor joining the F-150 Raptor, which has been around for well over a decade to this point. As it turns out, the formula for creating a desert blasting, highly-capable off-road vehicle is one that resonates with a lot of folks, and of course, all of these vehicles offer up more power than their mainstream siblings, too. However, there are some that find the Ford Bronco Raptor and Ranger Raptor’s twin turbocharged 3.0-liter EcoBoost V6 to be, well, slightly lacking.

Of course, one could look to the aftermarket for upgrades that would add power to that particular engine, or you could take those vehicles to a tuner, who would undoubtedly be able to unleash some extra ponies. However, there’s a true appeal to OEM upgrades that come straight from the manufacturer, and the Ford Performance brand has come up with a very special one for Ford Bronco Raptor and Ranger Raptor owners – a new calibration that unleashes a substantial amount of power.

2024 Ford Ranger Raptor

Ford Performance Parts is now offering a new calibration for both the 2023-2024 Ford Bronco Raptor and 2024 Ranger Raptor that gives both enhanced low-end torque and peak horsepower improvements. In stock form, the Bronco Raptor cranks out 418 horsepower and 440 pound-feet of torque, while the Ranger Raptor makes 405 horsepower and 430 pound-feet, but this calibration results in an eye-opening 455 horsepower and 536 pound-feet of torque for both models.

For those doing the math, those are gains of 50 horsepower and 106 pound-feet of torque for the Ranger Raptor, as well as 37 horsepower and 96 pound-feet of twist for the Bronco Raptor. Additionally, the calibration reportedly improves throttle response and optimizes the shift schedule to better manage the extra power. All of that extra juice comes at a pretty affordable price, too – $825 – and one can even use their FordPass Rewards points to pay for it.

Those planning to attend the upcoming Raptor Rally at the Ford Performance Racing School in Fairfield, Utah, on September 21, will get 20 percent off this new calibration, as well as other eligible accessories, too. That one-day outing costs $500 for a Raptor owner and a guest, who will get to participate in some off-road driving and trail rides, meet and greets with pro racers, expert workshops, and even hot laps to test out their rides.

Either way, this new calibration for the Ford Bronco Raptor and Ranger Raptor can be purchased online – M-9603-REB30 for the Ranger, and M-9603-BR30 for the Bronco – after which a dealer can install it. Since it’s an OEM upgrade, when installed by a Ford dealership, it’s also covered by a three-year, 36,000-mile Ford Performance parts warranty, which is obviously one of the big benefits of getting something like this straight from the manufacturer.

However, it is worth noting a few things. First, Ford Performance warranties date back to your vehicle’s original “in-service” date. AKA, the day you purchased the vehicle, not the day you installed the tune. Second, despite the warranty, risk remains, as you are technically reducing your vehicle’s 5-year/60,000-mile powertrain warranty, at least as far as the calibration is concerned. What does that mean in practice? Basically, if the calibration damages something, it’s not covered after the 3 years. But if damage occurs and it’s unrelated to the calibration, you still have the 5-year powertrain warranty.

Also, at time of publishing, this tune is only 49-state legal (sorry, California). Still, given its low cost compared to the resulting power boost, it certainly seems like a no-brainer for any Ford Bronco Raptor or Ranger Raptor owner looking to unleash power levels on par with the EcoBoost-powered F-150 Raptor, too.
