With just over 5k miles on the clock, this amazing 1988 Ford F-350 deserves all the attention it can get.

These days, it isn’t entirely uncommon to come across older, extremely low-mile Ford trucks for sale. It seems like these veritable time capsules are being found nearly every day of the week as barn hunters continue to search the ends of the earth for them like some sort of buried treasure. But what we don’t see that often are older work trucks with virtually zero miles on them. And that makes this gorgeous 1988 Ford F-350 dually that we spotted on Craigslist quite special.

The words “time capsule” get thrown around a lot in this enthusiast world of ours, but they certainly apply here. This 1988 Ford F-350 legitimately looks like it’s been sealed in a climate-controlled bubble for the last several decades, and that’s actually quite true. At least, it has spent a good bit of time in heated storage, according to the seller.

Clearly it spend a lot of time sealed up away from the elements, because this big dually has only 5,682 original miles showing on the odometer. There’s really no explanation for how this happened in the ad, so we can only speculate. Perhaps the owner purchased it thinking they might need a big workhorse, only to realize they didn’t. Regardless, most big diesel duallys like this one wind up covering enough miles to circle the earth several times over.

The truck itself is certainly ready to soak up miles by the tens of thousands, as it’s a nicely equipped XLT Lariat model with a 7.3-liter diesel powerplant under the hood. It even has a custom gooseneck trailer hookup in the bed, which clearly hasn’t been used much, if at all. The seller has meticulous records to go along with the pickup, including all of the maintenance records and even documentation of the fuel it has burned.

As one might imagine, there is no rust to be found here, just a few paint defects from sitting around for so long, apparently. Otherwise, it’s an immaculate example of the breed, with an absolutely gorgeous, like-new interior and super clean engine bay. And at least in the pictures, we certainly can’t spot any of the imperfections mentioned in the ad.

It isn’t every day we come across an old workhorse like this in such immaculate condition, that’s for sure. And while some might say that it’s a shame this F-350 hasn’t been used more, for us, it brings back fond memories of when these trucks were sitting on dealer lots, brand new.
