Finding it difficult to find the part number for the hard vacuum line and fittings that connects from the distributor to 2v Autolite 2100 carburetor. 1964 292 V8

The fitting at the carburetor looks like standard pipe thread, but the connection at the vacuum advance is a bit different. Kinda like brake fitting, but it's not. I noticed Mac's has a selection for T Birds that may work/fit but it would be best to find the right part or be able to rattle a number around the intertubes and see if there are equivalents.

Ecklers has a few different types on that auction site. The one here they listed is a textbook example of why one should always make sure the fittings are where you want them BEFORE bending the tubing. Guess they aren't flared... but.

Well, thanks for that. Maybe I'm blind though. Where's the vacuum line?

I did find some available at Casco Tbird parts, but not sure exactly which one would be correct. Not looking for concours, just the right fitment.

Sorry. I bent my own line.

Sounds painful... ha ha What did you use for the distributor fitting?

I probably have a fitting laying around though. NAPA has everything else. For $10 or so, one of the CASCO deals would be slick though. They used 292 V8 in 1957 or somesuch.

There's no Ford part number for any steel lines (fuel/brake/dizzy), had to be made up from bulk tubing, nuts and ferrules.

Simple enough to bend your own. This is on a 200 inline six in a '67 Mustang I worked on but, you get the idea. (I fabricated the steel vacuum, fuel and brake lines on this car).

Pretty fancy! There was a steel line on the truck when I got it, but it had been cut to use rubber line, and looked like it had served double duty as a coat hanger to open locked cars for a while. Planning on re-installing the Ford vacuum advance can for this motor and brass fittings and hard line nice and neat.

The shop manual sez the vac can adds 6.5° ignition timing for 292. I believe they are referencing distributor degrees, in this specification, not crankshaft degrees. Anybody know for sure? 13° crankshaft sounds about right anyway.

If you don't have the time or tools to make your own lines, buying a pre-bent line with new fittings is a good alternative. You can get one from Larry's T-bird parts here: 1958-1966 Ford Thunderbird Products - Larry's Thunderbird & Mustang Parts

The 64/66 is the 3rd one on the right, p/n B12371C. The T-bird had a 4bbl, but I'm pretty sure the line is flexible enough to work.

Edit: I just realized you asked about a 292, not the FE. I don't know if the T-bird came with a 292 but maybe one of the earlier parts would work.

1955/57 Thunderbirds came with either a 292 or 312. 1958/60 Thunderbirds came with a 352. 1961/65 Thunderbirds came with a 390, 1966/67's came with a 390 or 428.

Hm, what's strange is I rooted around there (great website btw, thanks, there's some good parts there for Y blockers and others) and none of the vacuum lines look close. Y blocks have the distributor at the back of the engine, so it's a pretty direct shot and shouldn't need a lot of contortions. Maybe somebody has a pic of an unmolested factory setup? Why did they have that odd "U" bend, must have been clearance for something. Don't really want to make a career out of this, a pre-bent line with the right fittings would be easy. Can't find the old distributor side fitting I had on hand now, naturally.
