Idler pulley bearing part numbers

I need to replace the bearing on my Idler pulleys, both smooth and grooved. I also want to replace the bearing on the tensioner pulley. Does anyone have the part numbers and the best place to order them from??? Thanks.

I was told by the IH mechanic at the HI parts counter I buy my
FORD parts from that the bearing is a standard one and just
about any bearing supply can get you one.

I have one here somewhere and I go dig it up. I will post back
after I find the silly thing.

Ok found it.

I found this on Google
B17-102DG3 Auto Alternator Bearing 17x47x14 - B17-102DG3 bearing - URU Bearing Industry Ltd

Your going to have to talk to a bearing supply or use a cross-reference catalog.

AKA 6303-2RS sealed bearing. Extremely common bearing.

Idler pulley smooth and grooved p/n 6303-2RS (1 ea)
belt tensioner p/n 6203-2RS (2)

I got both from Amazon. Easy swap with a vise and a socket on the outer race.

I did my tensioner bearings some time ago. Be sure to depth mic position of existing bearings in pulleys. If memory serves, the imer race is clamped to the tensioner, so your pulley standoff from the tensioner is a function of how far you press the bearings in. I replaced my smooth idler pulley but recall it seating within the pulley itself, so no issue with position.

I'd hit the pulleys with some light emery cloth to clean up any belt residue.

The OEM Ford / International / Motorcraft bearings are NTN brand bearings, which have a higher reputation for quality than most Chinese bearings. NTN bearings are made in Japan and the USA.

Since "RS" and "2RS" are not seal suffixes used by NTN, then any bearing with those designations in the seal suffix is not likely an NTN bearing, but rather is a cross referenced equivalent, usually made in China.

The seal suffix for the OEM sealing style NTN bearings in the tensioner and idler pulleys is LU. If you want double sealed, then look for LLU. Hence, the original bearing is 6203-LU, or if double sealing is preferred (OEMs are single sealed at the lip interface), then look for 6203-LLU. Expect to pay two or three times the price for NTN bearings. A retired alternator rebuilder, who spent 40 years in the business, had this to say when I asked him his opinions on bearing brands: "You get what you pay for." He will ONLY use NTN bearings in his builds, FWIW.
