i ran 45 pounders in my 500 uc that idled very nicely at 600-700 rpm with a small cam. at that point i still had lots of tuning room with the idle and the large injectors

 

OK, my turn to bump Have you started your ECU course yet? If so could you explain the box in between your ECU and the harness? I am getting ready to redo the computer setup in my '96 and this sounds like it would be a lot easier than my current plan of swapping over to OBD2.

BTW, congrats on completing your project.

I know this is an old thread but I enjoyed reading it. I'm just starting my 460 rebuild, planning to pull the engine next week. I hope that folks chime in on my thread when I post and keep me from making mistakes along the way. I thought that part of the thread was great.

I am selling it for 6 grand, GOD knows its worth more then that !
but due to the Economy and a new baby on the way I am force to give it a new owner ...
its been on the market for sale for the past month mate.
Still runs flawless .... rebuilt dana 60s and trans... and added fender flairs now..
just needs a new paint job and shes set.

I wonder how this truck actually turned out, not much said after engine was installed. I know he said 400 something horsepower but i have my doubts. Interesting read thats for sure!

 

I would be happy to see some final numbers as well. I wanted to see what he ended up with after everything was said and done.

Hey guys I am so sorry i haven't posted in a long long time... I went into the service as a Mechanic army.. and disappeared for a while there.. I would like to touch up on my truck.. the engine produced about 400 horse and 521 torque after dyno and chip added a high torq cam with a new Computer map profile offset crankshaft super charger etc. ... everything is in storage atm truck is with me still ... Hope this post helped other to rebuild there 460s.
