Question I have np205 fitment questions

I am getting a t-case from a guy who has a 79 F150 Ranger. It is a 351M with an auto transmission. it has 2wd 4wd hi/lo so I assume its an np205 but it looks weird. Will this t-case fit on my 76 F100 with the 435 manual?
This is the donor truck

I cant imagine that pic helping any but that is the truck its coming out of.

I really could use some help on this soon. I am getting the t-case in a few days when I have time to take it off. I hope it will work.

As long as you come up with the correct adapter between your NP435 and the NP205.
What T-Case are you running now? (probably a D21 or a NP203)

Sounds like a Dana 21 T-Case. It's the same one that was in my 74 F100. I'm going to F250 running gear and a divorced NP205. Just make sure you find the correct adapter and it should be fine. The T-Case adapter is different for a auto and manual (so I have read).

EDIT - Something I just found that could be a big deal in this swap. You need to look at the bolt pattern for the adapter housing that goes between yout tranny and t-case.

Also, read this thread. It might bring to light some of the dificulties.

Thanks for all the info. I'm going to pull it out and get pictures when I have the time and see if that helps.

No No No...... It will NOT fit. There is no "adapter" to make it work. Your NP435 has a 28 spline output. The 205 is a 31 spline.

If your 435 is married to a dana 21 the back if the trans will have a 2 wheel rectangular drive bolt pattern like most devorced case trans, not trapezoidal pattern of the 4 wheel married style pattern.

There is nothing wrong with the factory one. I have bad bearings in my transmission and I just replaced my ring gear, resurfaced the flywheel, and put in a new clutch. Is there a 4 speed trans I can use with this transfer case? I will be spending a good $300 rebuilding my transmission. I could buy a transmission that will fit the 205 instead. I don't want to loose the granny gear. The reason I want this t-case is that it has 4wd low and my original t-case does not. This truck is just an off road toy. Can I get a 31 spline output shaft for my transmission? I am going to rebuild it anyway.

A 31 spline shaft will do you no good. The cases are different. Find a ford np435 or t18 that came with anything other than a Dana 21.
