Also I will have the valve cover off and would like to paint it, it is a light gray, would have to be a heat resistant paint. Can't find anything locally, even the body shops say their paint is a two stage clearcoat. I'm not close to the painting stage, but I suppose if I could find paint in a larger size I might have to buy a cheap sprayer.

The following code is for a 53 F100 I recently had touched up which is original color. PP&G code (10428) is not original color. It is too light although picture of chip is correct on color chart. Correct code is; Sheridan Blue Paint Code for the 53 F100 is Color Code B/Duco 864/Dulux 93-81501

What do the Duco and Dulux stand for? I see there is a good Sheridan Blue thread going right now. I might consider down the road trying to do some painting myself, but don't really want to do the two stage clearcoat route.

I don't know. I hired a professional painter after I tried a spray can I ordered from www.auotmotivetouchup.com that came out too light of a blue. Dupont made the paint I believe.

Picked up my 53 yesterday and the body shop said the PP&G code is good and that the spray I ordered from automotive touch up .com was not mixed correctly. Said companies will use same formula and same name most of the time but give different code numbers.FYI

They are DuPont brand names for different types of paint. For Example DULUX is regular automotive enamel. CENTARI is Acrylic Enamel. IMRON is Polyurethane Enamel. DUCO is one of the first "modern" Automotive Paints. It's lacquer and was originally named "Viscolac" when released in 1921. It was slightly improved for use on GM products and re released as "DUCO."
