Color matched aerosol paint

I am in the process of removing rust at the corner of the door jambs on both sides. Once I get the rust removed I need to paint it. Assuming I will make more of a mess by trying to spray it with a gun I was thinking about using an aerosol spray mixed to my paint code (7N) from Sherwin Williams automotive store. It wouldn't be a base coat / clear coat. Would this become a problem down the road should I ever decide to have the entire truck repainted? I plan on painting the interior door jamb and I'll have to paint the bottom section of the extended cab. I would likely paint that area up to the wide factory rubber strip that runs the length of the truck. That way I wouldn't have a hard tape line. I don't think it would be that noticeable since it's still down on the body pretty far. And it's dark blue. Any thoughts? Suggestions? Tips?
