Hey I have a 96F150 with the inline 6 and the power steering pump has recently started to make a high pitched whining sound. Just wondering if this is normal for these trucks and/ or if this is something i should worry about. Power steering works fine its just kinda annoying.

 

It will whine if its low on fluid but these trucks whine like that anyway. Search the forums for a how-to on swapping in a saginaw power steering pump.

 

Our pumps can be a little noisy. Check the level.

 

That is some what normal for these stock pumps.

If you do have to replace it check this out , A1 Cardone has a Saginaw replacement part #206244

It has a horse shoe adapter on it to make it fit the Ford mount.

It also has a 90* fitting for the high pressure hose to hook up.
