1989 F150 Orifice tube location

I have replaced the accumulator, compressor, and evaporator on my 1989 f150. I cannot find the orifice filter to replace it. I looked in the outlet tube of the old evaporator, and checked all of the lines between the accumulator and the evaporator. Can anyone tell me where the filter should be? Thanks

The orifice tube is located in the connection between the liquid line to the accumulator on my '92 F350. The liquid line is typically a hard line running from the output side of the condenser to the accumulator (receiver/drier). I have seen some aftermarket lines place the orifice tube in the liquid line itself, nearer the condenser.

Actually, the OT is located in the inlet of the Evaporator. Follow the liquid line from the outlet of the Condenser to the connection at the Evaporator and the OT is located at that connection on the Evaporator side. You will probably destroy it getting it out as most require a long screw to be driven into it so you can then remove it with pliers.

If you replaced your evaporator core, it would have had a new OT in it already.
