1955 F100 Rear-End Conversion

So I purchased a ford 9ich which was out of a 59 f100. I recently purchased the CPP rear-end conversion kit, which comes with the u-bolts, shock mount brackets and the leafspring plates. So here is the issue, the shock mount brackets don't seem to fit correctly and looking at them, once welded I have no way to actually bolt the shocks on, no threads or welded nuts etc. So the question here is has anyone used this kit and if so, how did you get around these issues in addition, there were no instructions. Not real happy with this kit so far. On the plus side, the u-bolts are nice

if your talking about the bracket that welds to the rear end there should be 1 or 2 holes in it that a shock mount bolt goes thru.

This was my bad, I was looking at the part wrong. So there is a place to bolt the shocks to, I was thinking you would not be able to get to the back side once welded, I was wrong. So the last thing with those brackets is that curve does not matach the rear-end, so I may have to grind out a bit. I will get some pics and post so you can see what I'm talking about.

Why are you changing the spring mount pads welded to the axle? If your rear axle is indeed out of a 59 F100 the original spring pads are in exactly the right place to simply bolt it in place with larger U bolts and U bolt plate.

Now that's a good question, I did an eye-ball look and it appeard that they were not in the right place, off by an inch or so, towards the brakes on both sides, let me look at that again. Is there a place I can reference the ID number on the rear-end to see for sure which year model? They guy told me a 59.

Thanks for the response
